Master Cecil Parsons, son of Mr I. Mr Woodger, tlio well-known New Zealand sprinter, is at present acting «is relieving officer at th£ Eketahunarailway station.

Branchman H. Selby, of the Masterton Fire Brigade, who is leaving for Te Kuiti, was entertained at a farewell social in t'he Brigade station last evening. Superintendent Jenkins presided, and there were about fifty persons present. The health of the departing fireman was drunk in bumpers, and he was presented by the'fire service with a oa.se of handsome pipes, and by the young members of the Brigade with-a-tobacco pouch. Musical .items were rendered, and various toasts honoured.
