Mr R. Tilson and family, who have for many years been residents of iPonatahi, left on Monday for their future home at Moiki, iMartinborough. Messrs McLaren Bros, have taken over the Ponatalii property. Mr D. €. Smart, formerly in practice here as. a solicitor, and now of Hawera, was a visitor to 'Carterton on Monday. A ballot for £3OO in connectionwith the Wairarapa Terminating ■Building Society will take place on Thursday evening next. The Masterton and Carterton Friendly Societies will meet in a cricket match at Masterton on Saturday afternoon next. Mr H. J. Thompson, of Knox College, Dunedih, who has been assisting the Rev. L. Thompson, of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, for the past two months, left on Monday for Hastings., s
The takings nt the Fire Brigade Bazaar on Saturday evening amounted to £il94 7s Sd, making a total for tlio three days' bazaar of £-1-32 Gs. It is expected that the Brigade will clear al)out £3OO, which will give them a good' surplus after paying off the remaining debt on the .station.
