Another act "in the municipal drama whicli-' has been attracting so much, attention during the past few weeks was played' this evening, when exMayor Mackay addressed an overflowing meeting in the JDruids' Hall. Mr Ma'ckay recently resigned ar> a protest against Councillors failing to support him when, in open .Coimci', he brought forward a, resolution they had agreed to iu committee, viz.. to ask the, Borough Engineer (Mr Mansfield) to resign. After Mr Mackay had explained his reasons for resigning, arid tracing the trouble from the beginning, it -was resolved that Borough Councillors be asked to resign and offer 'themselves for re-eletieon at the same time as the Mayoral election is held. 1
