QUESTIONED REGARDING LEADERSHIP. (By Telegraph—Fress Association.) OHIRISTCiHUBOH. Last Night. The Lion. J. A. Millar, who passed through Christchurch on Saturday morning, was questioned regarding newspaper reports, which stated that the leadership of the Liberal party had been actually allotted to him, merely said that he had absolutely nothing to say, and he declined to discuss the subject. "Don't" you think it would he advisable to say something," he was asked, "in view of the important position which you are in, and the interest the people take in j your attitude?" "T simply don't think of it at all," he replied, "and that is all about it." The Minister will spend the woek end in Dunedin. and wul pass through Christchurch again on Tuesday evening, en his way io Wellington, to attend the Party caucus on Thursday, when, it is expected, a leader will be selected, and the formation of a new I Government will be attempted.
