CELEBRATIONS IN SYDNEY
SPEECHES ON HOME RULE.

The weather was fine for the St. Patrick's Day celebrations, and the speakers, including Archbishop Kelly and Mr Hazelton, ono of the Irish delegates, strongly advocated Home (Rule.
j. Archbishop Kelly declared that if affairs were properly managed, Home Rule would be as certain in the near future as the rising of the sun. Many said that they would lay down their lives for Ireland, but, the Archbishop said, "Give me the man who will lay down his glass for Jreland." Anyone who would do this for the sake of Ireland's' prosperity and credit, wouldibe doing better than those who went about Saying that they would sacrifice their lives. . The sports included the 440 yards, hurdle championship of New South Wales, which was won by Fraser, in 62 1-ssees
The mile championship was won by Wood in 4min 38 4-osecs.
