ON TASMANIAN COAST
THE CREW RESCUED.
Received This Morning, 12.35 o'clock. HOBART, March 15. The Norwegian barque Farsund has gone ashore on the north end of Capo Barren Island.
Tlio barque was bound from Buenos Ayres to Sydney in ballast. The captain, who has arrived at Launceifon, reports that on Sunday he struck a reef during thick weather. A gale was blowing and the sea was rough.
Difficultj- was experienced in launch, ing a boat. 'J'wo were smashed, but eventually the crew of sixteen got ashore in a third. Next day they returned to the vessel, but efforts to refloat her were unsuccessful. He left the mate in charge. During the voyage a sailor was lost overboard.
