A STORMY RECEPTION.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Last Night. A stormy meeting of about 700 persons met Mr ;J. T. Payne, member for Grey Lynn, to-night. The proceedings lasted nearly four hours, during which time Mr Payne, in spite of much hostile demonstration, delivered his speech. After questions had been answered, the meeting closed in an uproar, no motion being carried. Mr Payne declared that as the famous letter had been declared a breach of privilege, he intended to commence legal action against Mi- Massey.
