LAND SETTLEMENT
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WIELLINGTON, Last Night, Satisfactory progress is reported of the work carried out under the provisions of the Land Settlement Finance Act. Up to 31st March of last year, eleven Associations had been incorporated, with a membership of 68, and.au area of 9153 acres, valued at £132,802. Since then, thirteen Associations have been formed as under:— Auckland, 5 Associations, membership 14, area 0078 acres, purchase money £68,941; Canterbury, four Associations, membership ,23, area 4527 acres, purchase money £45,641 acres; Southland, 2 Associations, membership 16, arfa 4244 acres, purchase monoy £31,239: total, 13 Associations, membership 83, area 14,849 acres, purchase money £145,824. Negotiations for the acquisition of five or six. properties in the Auckland district,' jvid one in the South Island, are now proceeding.
