WKAKATAKI HACK RACING CLUB. .Special to'the Age.) T»o annual meeting of the Whakataki Hack Racing Club was hold on the Castlepoint beach in fine weather yesterday. There were about 300 people present, including a number of ladies. Mr W. O. Buchanan, M.l\, was among' the visitors. The -principal event of the day, the Castlepoint Clip, iwas won 'by Mr W. Brooks' ClyLio b>st 71b (Miller) 1, Colden 'Butterfly 2, .Musketeer 3. Travlock also started. Won by a head, after a splendid race. .Whakataki Handicap, six .furlongs— J. The concluding day of the Dannevirke races was held to-day. 'The .weather 'was squally, and the fields again were large. The attendance was a record (for the second day of the meeting. The sum of £9875 was passed through the totalisator, making a total of £20.331 for the meeting, :being an increase of over £IOOO on lastyear, despite tlio fact that there was one race less per day this year.
