AUSTRALIAN BUTTER

STATEMENT BY MR COGHLAN. ADVANTAGES HELD BY DANISH. (Received March 7, 11.40 a.m.). SYDNEY, March 7. The New South Wales Agent-General (Mr T. A. Coghlan), reporting on the (matter of butter export, states that it is an extraodrinary fact that no Australian butter is sold in the West End of London as such, and that, consequently, there is no opportunity for it to win a name. It suffers in price accordingly. Dealing with the advantages held by Danish over Australian butter, Mr Coghlan states that the former is of uniform quality. In this respect New Zealand also has an advantage over Australia. Only inferior qualities are sold as Australian. If these conditions are altered a proper price should be obtained.
