HASTWELL SPORTS

The annual sports meeting of the above Club will be held on Mr C Seymour's paddock, Hastwell, on Thursday, March 21st. The programme ,which appears on Page 1 of this: morning's, issue, is exceedingly well drawn up, and caters for all classes of professionals. The liberal prize money offered is sure to attract a large number of Wairarapa and Forty Mile Bush athletes, and given fine weather, the meeting should be a decided success. The open running events include 100 ydj, 220 yds, 440 yds, 880 yds, and one mile handicaps, and a 150 yds hurdle race is also included in the programme. (Nominations for the handicap events close with the secretary (Mr A. T. Jackson) at Hastwell on Friday. March 7th, and the handicaps wi!' appear in this paper on Thursday, the 14ith inst. A grand ball will be held in the Public Hall in the evening.
