The annual meet ins of the Bitloford Athletic Club was held m Mr Cunningham's paddock, Te Roto, yesterday. The threatening weather did hot prevent a large number cf settlers and' visitors from the surroundiii.r districts being present, and a 'most enjoyable day was spent. The I laroe number competing in every event added interest to the day's proceedings. 'Mr CI. Lang was the most successful competitor in. the mounted events, winning the Maiden Hunters .Competition with Sylvia Morn, and also the Open Hunters' Competition •with the same horse. The winner jumped exceedingly well, and showed I improved form since las performance at the Masterton Show. The Hunters' event ■ carried with it Mr Con Yiillan.ee''s cup, valued at £5, . with £2 added.
The -silver cup, presented by the Club for most points in foot events, was won by W. H. French, with F. Kilmister do;-;r up. Luncheon and afternoon tea, under the supervision cf Mr J.
