AMUSEMENTS
THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. The Foresters'. Hall was packed to the doors last evening on the occasion of the screening of a new series of films. Enthusiasm marked the entertainment, and the pictures were enjoyed by all who attended. A fine scenic was "Logging in Sweden,"' and the many beauties of this country was shown in the course of the film through the kinematograph. Another interesting subject was "Scenes in the Swiss Alps." The audience were given some fine views of this picturesque country. The old story of "Lady Godiva" was well portrayed, and the many little incidents surrounding it were pleasingly brought home to the audience as the film ran its course. "The Child Crusoes" was an exciting picture in which two clever children figured prominently. Many sensational episodes were illustrated, and all went to make up a very stirring story. "The Troubadour" was a beautifully coloured drama. As is always the case, Pathe's Animated Gazette was responsible for much interest being shown. Many happenings of recent occurrences Ave re shown to the delight of all. Other items of interest were "Selecting an Heiress," "Neighbours," "Calino takes in Boarders," "The Speedy Telegraph Boy," (comics), and "The Snare of Society" (drama). Throughout the evening music was rendered by the Orchestra, which added greatly to the enjoyment of all who attended. The programme will be repeated this evening. The children's matinee will take place on Saturday, at 2.30 p.m.
