LADIES' SWIMMING SPORTS.

[To The Editor.] Sir,— With many other well-wish-ers of the Ladies' Swimming Club, I was surprised to learn that the sports had been postponed. I understand that thirty competitors had sent in their nominations. These thirty, with their friends, have been anxiously looking forward to the carnival, and they do not see that there was sufficient excuse for abandoning the gathering. Next year, I opine, there will be fewer contestants than this year, because intending competitors will have 110 assurance that they will not be training in vain. Whoever was responsible for postponing the sports has succeeded in very nearly killing the Club.-- I am, etc., DISGUSTED' SWJMMEiR.
