HOSPITAL CHARGES.
The letter published in another coli umn, in which attention is drawn to 'She charge of. £1 8s per week for the maintenance of children'in the Master ton Hospital, voices the opinion of | not a small section of the community. j There are many parents % who,'.. after providing.for the keep of their families, have little to spare for cases of | sickness, and it comes as a greathardship upon these to have to pay£l 8s per week for the treatment of those of their offspring who may be afflicted. The Hospital are, of course, dealing with public money, but they should remember that a hospital is hardly an institution which should be run on profit-making lines. ! The day is not far distent when public opinion will demand that the hospitals shall be made entirely free.'
