AMERICAN PRESIDENCY.

America—toy which is meant the United States—is in for a lively period. The entrance of ex-President Theodore Roosevelt into the Presidential contest has lent special interest to the campaign. President Taft has announced that only death will keep him out of the fight, while Mr Roosevelt has stated that "his hat is in the ring," which means that he has thrown down the gauntlet to all-comers. In the first place there will be a desperate fight for the support of the Republican Convention, and after that there will be "wigs on the green." The indications are that the present occupant of the White House will be very hard to shift.
