On Monday and Tuesday, strong gales, accompanied by heavy downpours of rain, were experienced throughout the district. The day promises to be observed ,as a general holiday throughout this district. A meeting of the sub-committee was held last night, in order to make final arrangements for the school picnic, which is to take place on Thursday next.
