MESSRS ROBERTSON AND VEITCH.
From a statement made in the House of Representatives on Friday night, lit wolild appear that Mr (Robertson thinks that he can see a way of respecting bis election pledge and still keeping the Liberal Party on the Treasury benches. It all depends, of course, upon the nature of his pledge. If his pledge 'Was to oust the Ward Administration, he has no other course open to him but to record his vote in favour of Mr Massey's amendment to the Addross-in-Reply, or to resign liis seat in Parliament. Ho may .seek to pair with Mr Wilford, but this, being illegal, could not be allowed' iby the Speaker. As .for Mrj Veitch, we have it from his own lips that he is pledged to vote against the present Administration, and wo cannot tbelieve that he can find a pretext for going back upon that pledge.
