THE LABOUR PARTY.
The question which is being asked in all parts of ttlie country just now is whether Mr John Payne, jVI.P., is representative of the views of. the Labour Party in New Zealand. If he is, does his -action in offering to renounce his election pledge meet, with the approval of that Party? "By their deeds ye shall know them!/' If the Party, as such, condones a deliberate violation of a pledge, could it be trusted to honestly represent any single constituency in Parliament? The public, the honest labouring men, and women of the community, will ibe influenced in their future action by the -answer given by the leaders to this 'question.
