COAL SUPPLIES RUN OUT
XO SOUTHERN COAL FORTHCOMING.

SYDNEY, February 22. The Strike Committee at Brisbane have advised the representatives at Sydney titiit no coal is available for the Queensland railways, wood being utilised, and instructed him to proceed to the South Coast mining districts to arrange that no coail bo shipped to Brisbane. The representative added tthat he is officially advised that Newcastle is all right, meaning tli>at no coal will bo sent to Queensland from there. AMPLE LABOUR AVAILABLE. JAPANESE COAL TO BE IMPORTED. (Received Last Night, 10.25 o'clock.) BRISBANE, February 22. The Employers Federation claims that there is ample lahour available for transport work, •inchiding shipping. Negotiations are proceeding for the importing of a large supply of Japanese coal at an early date. ...... The employers in the timber trade have declined to confer with the men. I STRIKERS DISAPPOINTED. I AT ABORTIVE CONFERENCE.. (Received Last Night, 10.25 o'clock.) BRISBANE, February 25 The strikers are much disappointed at the report from, Melbourne that the Compulsory Tramway Conference has proved abortive. STEAMER HUNG UP. CARGO HANDLED BY NONUNIONISTS. Received This Morning, 12.45 o'clock. SYDNEY, February 22. The wharf labourers hung tip the Adelaide Company's steamer Marko fmm Brisbane, declaring thatthe cargo was handled by non-unionists.
