MEAT WORKS STRIKE
* AN ENCOURAGING REPORT. (By Telegraph—Tress Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. A conference of representatives ot both parties to the dispute have been sitting all the evening, discussing terms for a settlement of tho strike at the Petono ami Ngahauranga freezing works. Tho conference was not concluded, but adjourned until the mornparticulars liavo been divulged but it is reported that there was much satisfaction" at the progress made towards a settlement, and that there w every prospect cl work being resumed' within thti next'few days.
