LORD HALDANES VISIT . VIEWS OF GERMAN NEWSPAPERS. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock ) BERLIN, February 17. j The newspaper "Vorwaerts" is re i served in its attitude towards the Anglo-German rapproachment, fearing that it will lead to further Imperial's, tic expansion at the expense of tbo proletariat. It declares that while the fear of an Anglo-German conflict is receding, the spectre of heavy colonial burdens is arising. The Conservative paper, Taglich* Rundschau, states that Lord Haldane aind Herr von Stumm, on behalf of the German Government, will shortly, commence negotiations alternately in London and Berlin. The'visit of King George in the spring, says the paper, will advance the good feeling, but the Kaiser's return visit will crown the diplomatists' work. ■ The Kreuz Zeitung states that it is long years since a British „pronouncement on Anglo-German relations resulted in such a joyful echo in Germany. The Liberal paper, Lokal Anzeiger, says that all thinking Germans will support the Government in its endeavour to reach a better.understanding with England.
