PROCLAMATION ISSUED 3000 POLICE MOBILISED. MASS MEETINGS ABANDONED. (Received Last Night. 9.35 o'clock.) BRISBANE, February 13. The Governor lias issued a proclamation forbidding unlawful assemblies, a copy of which has been served by the Police on the strike loaders. Tlhiis was followed by a remarkaVe mobilisation of police, near the Trades Hall. Bush mounted constabulary appeared riding in fours, with their right sleeves rolled up and holding batons aloft, and were joined later by a band of mounted special constables, carrying rifles with fixed bayonets, altogether 3000 being mobilised. Tho strikers abandoned thier usual mass meetings. STRIKERS SEEK TO RETURN. THE CITY QUIET. (Received This Morning, 1.10 o'clock.) BRISBANE? February 13. •! The strike leaders continue to deny that the strike is breaking down. They claim that loyal unionists are more solid than ever and that trade is being diverted to Sydney to the complete consternation of the Brisbane merchants.

Tim Railway Department is curtailing the services of the central railways with a view to husbanding their coal supplies. The miners at Blairatbol and Bluff have ceased work wibh tihe object ■ ot preventing-the augmentation, of Brisbane's coal supply. . '
