Welch) mentioned that since last meeting one of the gentlemen who had occupied a seat on the Council for many years had passed away. He referred to Mr Jojm Morris. Ho thought it right and-proper that they should '"place orT rebord the » services rendered by this"gentleman, ami. extend their sympathy to his relations. He moved accordingly. In seconding the resolution, Qr Murray stated that he had known, the late Mr Morris for over thirty years. . He had found him a good settler, a good son. and a sterling man in every sense of the word. The resolution was Carried 'by the Council standing in silence.
