THE VICTORIOUS TRIUMPH. WONDERFUL RECORD OP SUCCESSES ON TRIUMPH MOTOR CYCLES. At the H.B. 'Motor Cycle Club's sports {hold on the Hastings Racecourse on Boxing Day, the Triumphs again practically swept the board. Out of an entry of 12 machines representing 5 different makes* the Triumphs secured ten firsts, seven seconds, and 4 thirds out of a possible eleven events. This performance is all the more remarkable when it is con&iSered •flhat the Triumphs had to concede large handicaps to machines of equal power and -six of the ten first machines were ridden by amateur riders. On Saturday. December 3Gth, Mr J. L. Braithwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make an ait-tempt om the existing of the Wellington to Napier recordviz., Bhrs Somen., established by Mr H. L. Schaeffor on New Year's Day, 1909, also on ft Triumph. In. spite of several attempts on other makes of machines, this record has l stood to tire credit of the Triumph for three years? Mr Brathwaite left the Wellington Posit Office at 4.20 a.m. o® New Year's Day, and arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., Sub time being Ghrs. 38min., Toweling the previous record by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only two stops being to take in petrol and oil. It is only perfect machines made from the finest material procurable that can average 33$ -miles an hour over 230 mile® of New- ZeaOiand roads. _ Those who were at . the Napier Ptfst Office at the finish couTd not help but (remark on the perfect condition of the machine at the finish. The Triumph l is mot only made for speed. It has proved itself to be the machine for (hard - work and long wear, and is perfectly adapted to New Zealand roads.
