A CANOE FATALITY
MASTERTON BOY DROWNED. Sergeant N. Miller, of Masterton, received a wire yesterday stating that a lad named Bernard McCarthy, whose parents live at Kuripuni, was drowned in the Wanganui river on Sunday. The lad, with several others, was attempting to negotiate the rapids in a canoe, when the craft swamped and McCarthy was drowned. At latest advices the body had not Imkmi recovered,
