On Saturday. December 30th, Mr J. L. Braitihwaite left for Wellington on his Triumph motor cycle to make an attempt oni the existing figures of the Wellington, to Napier recordviz.. Sirs 35mm., ostablisfced by Mr H; L. Sdhaeffer on New Year's Day. 1909, also on a Triumph. In spite of several attempts on other makes of machines, this record has 1 stood to the credit of the Triumph for three years. Mr Btnatihwiaite left the Wellington Post Office at 4.20 a.m. < on New Year'® Day, and; arrived at the Napier Post Office at 10.57 a.m., his time being 6hrs. 38min., Towering the previous, record by nearly two hours. The Triumph ran perfectly from start to finish, the only two stops being totake in petrol and oil.
