! MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Mas- ! terton Trust Lands Trustees was held last evening, there being present, — Messrs E. G. Eton (chairman), 0. E. Daniell, T. B. MHchell, W. H. Jackson, E. Krahagen, and T. Wagg. The Wellington City, Council asked for information in regard to the cost of the Town Hall, the dimensions of the building, etc.— The secietary stated that the information asked for had been supplied. The Commissioner of Police ('Mi - P. Waldegrave) wrote, stating that Ihe i communication of the Trust in regard to the.-drainage of the lock-up and ! officer quarters had been- ' refei red to- Workr letter- | his services -. as, operator v for picture ' the *Toi\VHr:Hall'Cbmmittee, as was also a letter from J. Watson, submitting a price for orchestra.
The Northern Assurance Company notified that the insurance rate for the new brick building would be 12s 6d per cent., instead of 13s Id, as first charged.— It was decided to ask the Company to remove a loading on the building immediately a. wooden building in the neighbourhood is removed.
Mr P. J. Hunn asked for a rebate ori the Town Hall charges for the sacred concert in aid of 'Mi* William Reeves. — On the motion of Mr Micheill, seconded by Mr Daniell, it was decided that a rebate of 30s be made. The draft leases between the Trust and the tenants of the new ■ brick building were referred to the Building Committee.-to be complete. The Treasurer reportc-A n debit balance at the Bank of £390 17s 7d. The report of the Committee on the new block < f brick buildings nns read. T 1 " -'. -ions extras'■■which had been allowed by the Committee were explained by Mr Daniell at' same length. Mi - Daniell ."tated that the contractors had en-d-favoured thr< nghont to meet the wishes of the Trust," and the builc'ing was a credit to them. —The chair- j man endorsed the remarks 'of Mr I Daniell, and stated that* it was sat-1 i-sifactory to, find that the extras ivere , so small.— Mr Jackson paid a trib- j ute to the Building Committee as I well a-s the contractors. —The report ! was adopted. | The Scholarship Cbmmittee's report I was read. The Chairman explained I that the Committee had not had a I full meeting, and consequently it had not been able to bring down recommendations.— Messrs Wagg and Michel! expressed the opinion that it was time the. Qommittee had prepared its report.— The chairman said lie woukl endeavour to get a meeting |at an early date, so that a report j mightbe presented at the next meeti ing. The Finance Committee's report was read and adopted. Accounts amounting to £-5,16 lis 8d were passed for payment.
