SCHOOL COMMITTEE
MONTHLY MEETING. The Masterton School Committee held t'heir monthly meeting in the secretary's office last evening, there /being present.— Messrs A. r . Chapman (in the chair), J. L. Eugnes, T. J. Thompson, E. Pragnell, A. Hendry, G. Hyde and O. Perry. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs ;R. Brown and E. H. Waddington. . . ._. A motion was carried, placing on the minutes a record 'of the "Committee's appreciation of the high success attained by .the. pupils in the primary 'and secondary schools at the annual examinations. It was decided to renovate the water service at the side school, and to ask the Education Board to bear the cost entailed. The headmaster (Mr Jackson) was complimented on the organisation of the school classes under the existing difficulties, caused by the alterations to the school. A letter was received from Mr J. W. Mborhouse, offering several museum exhibits for sale. -The matter was left in the hands of the chairman and Mr Jackson to report on. Messrs J. L. Hughes, C. Perry, and G. Hyde were appointed visiting members for the ensuing month. Account ; amounting to £22 Is Jd were passed for payment.
