THOMPSON* a/NE-PICTURES. The Foresters' Hall was .crowded io the doors '.oug bciort eight o'clock last evening, when a special programme was presented. The star subject of the Evening was a sporting j drama, eat*-tied "The Double Event." •Nat Gould's pc pular work was portrayed in three parts, ttnd was acted and produced by a company well up to the highest standard of efficiency in- -the theatrical world. An exceedingly' lengthy film it was, stirring from start to finish, and added interest was given by 'tlie fact that _Mr Alf Boothanan graphically described the various situation®. A most in--1 structive and yet 'amusing film was I "The Strength and Agility of Insects." As an. instructive subject it would be 'hard to beat. Various'little creatures were seen going through an acrobatic performance. The flea was seen to hold what 'appeared, in proportion, to be very heavy weights. When at, the conclusion-, however, the audience siiw the- insect's foot, little wonder was expressed at the feats he 'had performed. "Pat-he's Australian Gazette" pictured some interesting happenings of recent occurrence. "English Lakes," in which a trip is taken along fhe.e renowned cpots, conveys a good impression of Old Country scenery. Other films of interest were ''An 'ldle Boast," "Captain Barnacle's Baby," "That "Dare-devil," and "Charlie Smiler on Ju-Jitsu." The above films will be thrown 'on the screen- again this evening. The matinee will be held as usual on Saturday afternoon.
