SCHOOL EXEMPTION.

'ln his report to the Masterton District High School Committee last evening, the headmaster (Mr W. H. J'aekson) stated that there was an impression in the minds of a number of parents that a scholar could he withdrawn from school after passing the fifth standard, whether sxich a scholar is over fourteen years of age or not. Mr Jackson rightly points out that (this is a mistake. The standard of exemption is now the sixth standard, and no excuse other than ill-health or stress 'of weather is accepted.
