MASTERTON STOCK SALE.
Messrs James Macintosh and Co., report having held tiheir usual weekly sale in the Waipoua yards yesterday, whem they offered a yarding of sheep well above advertised numbers. The entries met with a ready siale, and the firm are pleased to report a'total clearance, only two small pens going out unsold. Quotations arenas follows: — Fat wethers, lis 2d to 14s 8d; fatewes, 12s to 12s 4d; fatfc lambs, lis 2d to lis 8d ; store ewes, 8s 4d to 8s 9d; forward two-tooth wethers, lis lOd to 12s lOd; store lambs, 8s Id to 8s 8d; 2 ahd 4-tooth ewes, 9s Id to lis; small lambs, 4s 8d to 7s Id.
"Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report" as follows:—We offered a moderate entry of sheep and a fairly large one of cattle to a capitalattendance of buyers, and have to report a total clearance. A line of wellgrown 2-tooth ewes in' good conditio.'! made 14s (>d. Quotations: —Fonvai*d bullocks, £7 ss, 2£-year,s steers, £4 16s to £5 ss; fat cows, £4 16s to £5 10s; fresh conditioned stoi'e cows, £4 3s, others, £3 10s, £3 17s; aged cows, £3 ss; yearling steers, £2 19s; twoitooth ewes, good, 14s 6d; fat ewes, 12s, cull iambs', 6s Id.
Messrs Daigety aaid Co., Ltd., report as follows regarding their Masterton sale at Sol Way yesterday:— Stock came forward well tip to advertised numbers, and for young sheep bidding under the hammer was spirit- ■ ed. Wethers especially were in keen, demand, and as tihe stile progressed prices hardened fully Is per head. A large number of aged and inferior ewes came forward, and prices for this class of stock were on a par with late rates ruling, a .total clearance of '<ll lilies yarded being effected practically under the -ha mmer. Attendance of the public was good, and there were many 1 (buyers present for wethers. The Mataikona draft oairie forward in excellent order, and the top line of their two-tooth wethers were a really good lot. Bidding for these was spirited, the sheep being eventually sold under the hammer for 13s 2d. Other sales ; we quote as follows: —Two-tooth ewes, small, 8s 5d to 10s Id; s.m. ewes, 10s Id to lis; inferior ewes, 2s 10d to 4s
7d; i'.m. ewes, 7s 2d to 8s; two and four tooth wethers, 13s lid ; twotooth mothers, lis, lis 9d i-o 12s 6d; coolly lambs, from 9s 6d to 10s 9d. ; PA.HIATUA STOCK SALE. Messrs AbraJiaan iaiul Williams, Ltd.; report—Wo offered a. heavy yarding of both sheep and cattle to a largo attendance of buyers, and have to report a good clearance by the end of Mie day. We also offered on behalf of the Trustees in the estate of the late W. Redman, two properties ofc Ivoniiui, which were both passed in. .Quotations": —F.f.m. ewes, 9s 7d; fat ewes, <l2s 9d ; cull lambs, 2s (kl, 4s to 5s 9d; rape lairtbs, 7s 7d to 8s; 2toot'h ewes, 9s 6d; weaners, 35s to 3Gs; 18-months eflipty heifers, £3; heifers in calf, £3 2s 6d; £3 10s to £3 12s; bulls, to £3; empty cows, t-o I*3 Us; dry cows, to £2 10s.
