RAILWAY CONSTRUCTION.

When the Massey Government assumes the reins of office, it is efc pected -that there will be a good deal of L washingvuip to be done, in most' of the great Departments of State. The one Department which, mora than any other, will require close attention, wall be that of Public Works. During the last' few years a number of wild-cat railway and other schemes have been projected, and the new Government will experience no little difficulty in cleaning matters up and saving the Dominion from enormous losses. The hydro-electrical scheme will also require careful handling.
