BANDS' ASSOCIATION

PROTEST CONSIDERED. ' (By Telegrapkr—Press Association.) OHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The Executive of the South Island Bands Association to-night considered a protest of the -Wbolston Band against the revised decision in the Quickstep Competition. ; Evidence was heard of Mr C. J. Gallop, representing the Woolston Band, and Mr W. U. Webley, who added up the detailed figures, and who stated.th!at the addition was wrong, as announced on the vshioiw grounds, and this was due to the fact that considerable noise was going on in. the room when the points Were being added up.< It was decided to return the deposit made iby the Woolston Band and to dismiss the protest. The Executive placed on record its high appreciation of the work clone by Mr F. Morgan, as adjudicator, and of his criticisms. Mr Morgan is to be asked to select the test pieces for the Dunedin contest.
