ON FOXTON RACECOURSE. (By Telegraph — Press Association.) . PALMEIRISTON is., La«t Night. Matthew. Connelly, a flax contractor, was charged at the Police Court with carrying on business as a - bookmaker on the Foxton Racecourse on the 20th inst, Evidence was given by the police as to the money, having been 'seen to pa&s between accused and /several men. Accused's book was produced 1 , containing several entries. The defence was that the money paid to the men was for flaxcutting, and that the entries in the race book were of the same nature. The case was adjourned tii. Saturday.
