The Rev. A. Hodge ana ramily leave Masterton for Napier tcHmorrow. ' Mr IngMs, of Inglis 8r05.,, motor engineers, Wellington, was a visitor to Masterton on Saturday last. The Carterton News states that two positions of a tempting nature" have l>een offered Mr J. T. M. A. Cameron and family, accompanied by Mrs Crawford, have gone to Flau Point, where, they will spend a few months. The high esteem in which the late Mi" John Morris was held in the Masterton district was demonstrated yesterday, when hundreds of- country settlers and residents of the town /attended his funeral. The cortege, which embraced representatives of all' the pioneer families of the district; ■ was;fully'half a mile in, length. The. ceremony at "the grave was performed v in an impressive manner by the' Rev A. T. Thompson, 8.A., B.D. Mr'J.-'L. Murray, whilst "on his holiday trip at Castlepoint, had the misfortune to injure bis back. Whilst assisting in launching a boat he strained the muscles of bis back. Thinking it would work off he took exercise, but his back got worse, and by Thursday he was unable to move. He was brought into Masterton by car on Friday, and under medical treatment is showing a flight improvement, though quite unable to sit up or turn/
