The Takapuna Jockey Club's summer meeting>was opened on Saturday, in excellent weather, and with a good attendance of the public. The course was. in good order, and the sum of £18,945 passed, through, the totalisator, as against slightly less than £lO, 000 for the first day of last year's imeetdng.
