THE TERRITORIALS.

It is stated tlhat, in the, process of thinning-out tihe Territorials to the required number, many youths in the towns- were thrown out, whilst others in the country districts were retained. Thhis it happens that, while youths engaged in factories in Mas-ter-ton axe allowed to go scot free, lads on farms ten and fifteen miles from town are compelled to come in to drills aiulparades. The - bucolic, youth may be-more fitted for service than the dweller in the town, but it is surely wrong that lads shtould tbe taken from farm work when those in the towns are more available.
