Tliey had 100 runs.*- up for one wicket, but this good averago was not maintained, four being down for 113. Then Reese and Hickmott made a good stand, taking tlie score to 170. Then the wickets fell cheaply, until eight were down for 228. A good stand by Patrick and-Boxshall carried the total to 274, the innings closing three runs later. Pa-trick batted very soundly, but Lusfc was very hickyr giving no less than three chances. ' R. G.
