Mitchell, tailor"; of Balclutha, .was •drowned': to- 1 day while bathing at KJaka Point, on the Boi't IMolyneaux beach. The deceased .and several other boys were having a bathe, when Mitchell got out of his depth. He was brought to shore, but too late, strenuous efforts by /Dr Fitzgerald' failing to restore animation. Deceased was a bright I'ad, and acliieved distinction in all subjects at his school; : ■ - ,'•
