THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. "There was a crowded attendance at .the Foresters Hall last evening, when Messrs Thompson and Payne screened a new programme. The subjects ■ were well chosen, ? and altogether a most enjoyable and interesting set of pictures were presented. "Host in the Jungle," the star picture of this series, was a really, wonderful" "production. The story deals with ail- old settler and his daughter in the wilds of Africa. "The Diamond Gang" was a sensational drama giving the audience an insigjht into detective work. A subject of a novel type was an exihibition of tight rope walking by "Sada," who is said to be one of' the jajreatest artists in tihis line on the vaudeville stage. The clever turns and tricks of the performer were sluown as clearly as if the exhibition were given in reality on the platformi Other caWtal pic,-' tures were, "Betty's Buttons," "The Queer Folks," "The Last , Word." "Lea Finds a Job in a Bank," "Tilly and the Fire Engines," and Bathe's Animated Gazettes," wlii<fh contained the usual collection of' interesting news items. The programme will be concluded this evening. The usual matinee will take ,place to-morrow afternoon, at 2.30 o'clock. On Monday. Fergus Hume's work, "The Mystery of a Hansom Cab." will be shown for the first time. Mr Alf Boothman, the well-known lecturer, will describe the various incidents as thev api>enr on the sheet.
