SALE OF YEARLINGS'
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. There was a good attendance to-day at the annual sale of the Waikanae j yearlings, and a very representative gathering of sportsmen, being present) | from otluer centres. Mr Pyue, of Clhristchurch, conducted the sale, and it was speedily evident that most of those round the ring-side had been attracted by idle curiosity rather than .any genuine desire to buy. As a result the bids were very slow. Many of the lots disposed of went for much below their real yiame, arid undoubtedly in more than one instance bargains were secured.
