ARRIVES IN CHRISTCHURCH. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) (MRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The members of the New South Wales Totalisator Commission arrived in, CShristdhurch from- Wellington yesr tei-day morning. Interviewed by a reporter, Mr Levien, the chairman, stated that the' Commission heard a great deal of important evidence in .Wellington, where it sat in the Parliamentary. which were kindly placed at its disposal by Sir James Carroll. Hie Commission filiated all shades of opinion on the question, whether moral, social, or otherwise. The time was limited, and' i.t was hoped that those desirous of giving evidence would come .forward without delay. Mr Levien stated that he desired to thank the officials of the Racing Clubs throughout the Dominion. for their courtesy, and also those other citizens who had iso kindly come forward to give evidence on this much vexed question., which the Commission was investigating. He also desired to thank the newspapers for publicity they had given to the proceedings of tlie. Commission. The Commission -sits to-morrow and Thursday to tnke evidence. The members leave for the South on Friday. and finally depart from tho Bluff on Monday, for Australia.
