THE SHIPPING TROUBLE
PROCEEDINGS IN COURT. (By Telegraph—Press 'Association.) WIEfLLIXGTON, Last Night. As a sequel to tlie recent troubles between the Merchant Service . Guild and the owners t,-.f coastal steamers, the Inspector of Awards proceeded against the Merchant Service Guild to-day, in the Magistrate's Court, claiming'', a £2OO penality under section) 6 of the Industrial- Conciliation and Arbitration Act, 1908, for inciting the officers of vessels to sitrike. Mr H. H. Ostler, of the Crown Law Office, prosecuted, and Mr 'A. L. Herdiman appeared on behalf of the Gtaild. Evidence was sriven by representatives of several Shipping Companies. The further hearing was adjourned till to-morrow.
