ACCIDENT AT A WHARF

, OHRJSTGH'D'RCH, Last Night. | Shortly before neon to-day, a lad | named Ste-vonf-, aged 15, whoso parents reside at Walpole Street, Waltham. had both feet badly wished by being jammed against the Lyttel-t-n v.imrf bv the .steamer Mararoa. The ,hoy had. gone to Lyttelton with two or three companions, and was fishing over the edge of the wharf. The quartenr.HfStc.rs of the Mararoa had warned the boys three or four times, but they had tr.ken no notice, and when the wind swung the vessel against the wharf, Stovers was jammed. This is the second accident of 1 the kind, as about eighteen _ months ago a young man named Griffins lost a foot through being jammed against the wharf by tho iVLooraki. It is suggested that the practice of fishing between steamers and the wharf should be dealt with by a Harbour Board bylaw. . .
