THE AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS. (Received Last Night,. 5.5 o'clock.) ADELAIDE, January 20. At the Australian Swimming Championship's carnival, Hardwick (of New South Wales) beat Kingsbury, of Westralia, by a bare touch, in "the 220 yards race. Time, 3min. 4 sees. In the half-mile event, Longworth 1 , of New South Wales, was first; Springfield (Queensland) second; and Moon (South Australia) third. Won easily by f>o yards. Time, 25min. 39 2-ssecs.
