THE MINERS' CONFERENCE AN ABRUPTTER.MINATION. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) The Welsh miners delegates, at the Manors' Conference at Birmingham, strongly opposed the peace overtures of U.e English neace delegates. They bitterly complained of the South Wales'demand for a s minimum wage of cigli/t shillings per day, claiming that it was unfair to ask the rest of the miners to fight for something that they themselves were not asking for. The Welshmen refused to amend the demand. The conference thereupon adjourned till February Ist. TRAMWAY STRIKE. (Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock.) BRISBANE, January 20. A fair tram service was maintained until midnight, when it ceased. The Tramway Company claims that it will be ahle to keep the service going. The strikers marched through the streets, and two men. were arrested for disorderly conduct, otherwise quietness prevailed.
