MEETING t>F DIRECTORS. The monthly meeting;, of tlie Directors, of. i'the Wairarapa Oajfftionian Society was held in the Dominion Hall ,on Saturday afternoon, there being present,— Messrs Alex MeLeod (President, in the chair), J. B. McKenzio, J. H. Phiuliing, G. R. Sykes, E. E. Chamberlain, W. Sellar, P. C. Jorgensen, Tlios. Wyetih, T. G. Hoar, D. McLachlan, Robert McKenzie, and St. W. Robson. [Reports from the Pipe Band and i*rogramme Committees were read and adopted. An interim report and balance sheet on account of the sports and concert was read and adopted, and the accounts in connection' therewith passed for payment. The sports account showed, receipts to be £331 17s 9d, and the expenditure £405 3s lOd. The concert account showed receipts £6B Is, and expenditure £3l 17s. >. The Pipe Banjl account showed'=• a credit balance of £2 4s 3d, and a credit of assets over liabilities of £239 8s 3d. The general account was reported to foe in a particularly prosperous state, showing credit to date of £l6O 2« as follows: Receipts: By credit balance at 31st March, 1911, £6l 6s lOd; members' subscriptions to date, £227; total, ~£2BB 6s. lOd. Expend!-, ture to date, £l2B 4s lOd, which includes a sum of £SO transferred to the fixed deposit account bearing interest at 4 per cent. This account new stands at : £3oo'. - Tlie. balance <i£ assets over liabilities is estimated at £473; 15s 9d. .. Several of the Directors spoke flairiterungly ujpon the explicit and thorough manner in which the details in connection! with the various reports H i ■ submitted., and of the very satisfactory position in which the Society stood. • '; v . Oh the moiiajkof'Mr J, 'H ; . Paulling, seconded by Mr Alex. MeLeod, it w.a.s decided unanimously, that the secretary's salary be increased to. £.50, the payment to bo retrospective as from the Ist April, 19-11.. .. . On the motion of the President/ (Seconded by Mir J. H. Pauline, it war, decided that a hearty'vote of thanks he accorded the secretary and staff, the Dirpctors and stewards, the Amateur Athletic Club, tiie call steward (Mr P. Galbert), the Homing PigeonClub, the Ambulance Association, and the Press, for their von- valuable assistance in making the sports so successful, an affair. It was unanimously decided that a ftoecial vote of thanks be accorded .Mr T\jv-id -Tsiclrisori, the caretaker -of- .the Park, for the courtesy always .ex-' tended to tho Society, and the valu-afw.is.-i-o rendered by him. Mr K. W. Robson, on behalf of h'-is ifekow-LHrectors, spoke eulogistically regarding +hp services rendered bv Mr Alex. MeLeod as President, describing him as an ideal man for the iposition. A great measure of the sucoer-s of the Society-was 'undoubtedly due to the painstaking a«d thorough manner in which-lie attended to every detail. • , Several of the Directors concurred, and Mr MoLecd suitably responded, amidst applause. It was decided, that the sum of £SO ibe handed to Mr R. Cameron in part | payment of loan.
