NEW YEAR'S EVE
A COSTtY DEMONSTRATION. Several of the young men w;?o took (part in. the street demonstration in Masterton on New Year's Eve. when empty kerosene tins and various noisy instruments were called into requisition, appeared before Mr L. G. Reidj-S.M., yesterday, to answer for their behaviour. John Clarke and George Graham, were charged with discharging firearms within the Borougjh of Masterton, on December 30th. Both accused peaded guilty, and were convicted and ordered to pay 7s costs. Frederick Curno, on a similar, charge, was convicted and discharged^ Lionel Harvey was charged with disturbing the public by "playing" a noisy instrument (a kerosene tin) on New Year's Eve, and was convicted and ordered to pay 7s costs. Joseph Ewington, dnarged with discharging Eve, pleaded., guilty, and -was <%>£- vict&d ajiid ordered, to pay tf.s; ocb£s>' "
