PARK FETE DAY
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A meeting of the general .committee in connection with the forthcoming Masterton Park Fet>b, was held in the Coimcil Chambers last evening, when the report® of the various sub-conunititees were received and adopted. The programme as arranged is a comprehensive one, inducting various swimming events, running events for amateurs and professionals, bicycle races, and swimming and running events for boys and girls, and Scotch dancing for juveniles. T/ho Masterton Brass Band'and the Caledonian Pipe Band have kindly promised to be in attendance, and, will play selections during the afternoon and evening. Tao-official opening of the Coronation Hall will take place during the afternoon, and it is hoped to get one of the Ministers'to perform the ceremony. An excellent programme is being arranged for the evening, and Mpssrs TJiompson and Payne have .again most generously offered to give a picture show. The Maoris also have promised to assist both in the afternoon and evening. Altogether a most enjoyable time is promised, and shoulkl result in -a substantial addition being made to the fund.
